1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Vedune ("Vedune", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, stores and handles information when you access or use vedune.in and Vedune's AI-powered tools and services.
Vedune currently offers AI Chat, Student Tools, Business Tools, AI Writer, Creator Tools, Image AI, Resume Builder and PDF Tools, with some additional tools marked as in development. The information involved depends on which tools you use.
2. Information We May Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use Vedune. It may include the following categories.
Account information
When you create or use an account, we may process information such as your name, email address, account identifier and authentication-related information.
Information from sign-in providers
If you choose to sign in using a third-party authentication provider such as Google, we may receive basic account information made available through that authentication process, such as your name, email address and profile information permitted by the provider and your authorization.
User content
When you use Vedune's AI tools, you may submit prompts, chat messages, text, documents, images, reference photos, resume details, files, instructions or other content. We process this information as necessary to provide the feature you requested, including keeping your chat history available in your account.
Some features work differently by design: PDF Tools are built to process files on your own device where the feature states this, and Resume Builder drafts may be saved in your own browser so you can continue later. Where a feature works on-device or in your browser, that content does not need to be sent to Vedune's servers for that step.
Subscription and transaction information
If you purchase a subscription, we may receive and store information relating to the transaction, such as your selected plan, payment status, transaction or payment identifiers, subscription identifiers and billing status.
Payment credentials such as complete card details or UPI credentials are collected and processed directly by the applicable payment provider rather than by Vedune.
Usage and technical information
We may process technical and usage information necessary to operate, secure and improve Vedune, such as feature usage, plan usage limits, timestamps, browser or device information, error information, security events and similar service data.
Support and issue reports
If you report a problem through Settings > Support or another support channel, we may process the category you select, your description of the issue and related account or technical information needed to investigate it.
3. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- create, authenticate and maintain user accounts;
- provide Vedune's AI tools and features;
- process prompts and other content submitted to the service, and keep your chat history available;
- manage subscriptions, plan usage limits and account entitlements;
- process and verify payments and subscription events;
- provide customer support and respond to issue reports and other requests;
- detect fraud, abuse, unauthorized access and security threats;
- diagnose technical problems and maintain service reliability;
- understand how Vedune is used and improve the product;
- communicate important account, service or policy information;
- comply with applicable legal obligations and lawful requests.
4. AI Processing
Vedune provides features powered by artificial intelligence. Information you submit to an AI feature may need to be processed by the AI service or infrastructure provider used to generate the requested result.
Depending on the feature, this may include prompts, conversation context, instructions, documents, images or reference photos, or other information that you intentionally provide. The specific AI model used for a request may vary by plan, feature and availability.
You should only upload photos, documents or other content that you own or have permission to use. You should avoid entering passwords, payment credentials, government identification numbers or other highly sensitive information into AI prompts unless a Vedune feature specifically requires and appropriately supports that information.
5. Service Providers
Vedune relies on service providers to operate different parts of the platform. These may include providers for:
- cloud hosting and infrastructure;
- authentication and database services;
- artificial intelligence processing;
- payment processing;
- transactional and operational email;
- security, monitoring and related functionality.
These providers may process information as necessary to perform services for Vedune and may operate under their own applicable privacy terms and legal obligations.
6. Payments
Vedune may use Razorpay or another authorized payment provider to process subscription payments.
Vedune may receive transaction-related information from the payment provider so that we can activate, maintain, cancel or otherwise administer your subscription and address payment-related issues.
The payment provider's handling of payment information is also subject to its own privacy policy and applicable legal requirements.
7. Authentication
Vedune may use Supabase and third-party identity providers such as Google to provide account authentication and session management.
When you create an account with an email address and password, you may be asked to confirm your email address before signing in. Passwords must be at least 8 characters long.
When you choose a third-party sign-in option, that provider may process information according to its own privacy policy.
8. Emails and Communications
We may use email service providers such as Resend to send account, support, partnership, security, service or other operational communications.
If you contact us by email, we may process your email address, message and related correspondence so that we can respond and maintain appropriate records.
9. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Vedune may use cookies or similar browser technologies where necessary for authentication, sessions, security, preferences such as your light or dark theme, referral attribution and operation of the service.
For example, a referral cookie may be used to remember that a visitor reached Vedune through a creator or partner referral link.
Browser settings may allow you to control certain cookies. Disabling essential cookies may prevent some parts of Vedune from functioning correctly.
10. Creator Referral Program
If you visit Vedune through an eligible creator or partner referral link, Vedune may process a referral code, random visitor identifier, referral timestamps and account or transaction attribution information necessary to operate the referral program.
Creator dashboards are designed to provide referral and earnings information without unnecessarily exposing referred customers' personal information.
11. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information as a standalone product.
Information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary:
- to service providers that help us operate Vedune;
- to process authentication, AI requests, payments or communications;
- to investigate fraud, abuse or security incidents;
- to comply with applicable law, court orders or lawful government requests;
- to protect the rights, safety and security of Vedune, our users or others;
- as part of a legitimate corporate restructuring, acquisition, merger or transfer, subject to applicable law.
12. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing the service, keeping your chat history available, maintaining account and transaction records, resolving disputes, preventing fraud, enforcing agreements and complying with legal obligations.
Different categories of information may have different retention periods depending on their purpose and applicable requirements.
When information is no longer reasonably required, we may delete, anonymize or otherwise dispose of it in accordance with applicable requirements and technical limitations.
13. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or loss.
Access to account data is restricted by database access controls, so that an account can access only its own information.
However, no online service, database or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are also responsible for protecting your account credentials and for notifying us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
14. International Processing
Some of the technology and service providers used by Vedune may process or store information in countries other than the country where you live.
Where cross-border processing occurs, we aim to handle information in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
15. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on applicable law and your circumstances, you may have rights or choices relating to your personal information, which may include requesting access, correction, updating or deletion of certain information.
You may also contact us regarding privacy concerns, consent-related requests or other questions about how your information is handled.
We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests. Some information may need to be retained where required for legal, fraud-prevention, security, accounting or legitimate record-keeping purposes.
Privacy requests can be sent to hello@vedune.in.
16. Children and Younger Users
Vedune includes learning and productivity tools that may be useful to students. We recognize that personal information relating to children requires additional care.
Where applicable law requires parental or lawful guardian consent before processing a child's personal information, Vedune intends to obtain or require such consent before carrying out processing that requires it.
Parents or lawful guardians may contact us at hello@vedune.in regarding a child's account or personal information.
As applicable legal requirements for children's data evolve, we may update our age, consent and feature controls accordingly.
17. Third-Party Links
Vedune may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites that we do not control.
You should review the applicable privacy policy when using an external service.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Vedune evolves or as legal, technical or operational requirements change.
The latest version will show an updated date at the top of this page. Where appropriate or legally required, we may provide additional notice of material changes.
